🌷 Things to Do in KC - Springtime Edition!! 🌷

Yes!  Its finally happening!  Winter is on its way out and SPRING has sprung!
You can see budding trees and tulips beginning to blossom all over Kansas City!
As we jump into this much-anticipated season change, KC explodes with activities!

⏰ And don't forget to "spring forward" Saturday night for Daylight Savings! ⏰


BIG 12 BASKETBALL TOURNEY
March 6-10th

This is one of the most exciting sporting events in Kansas City!  Hit the Power & Light District to feel the excitement!  Fans from all over the region will be sporting their team's colors and enjoying the tournament in our hometown.  


St. Patrick's Day Parades
March 10th & 17th


Kansas City has a rich Irish heritage, and those roots are fully celebrated on St. Patrick's Day!!  Starting this weekend, several neighborhoods host "warm up" parades, including Brookside and North Kansas City. And then on March 17th, downtown KC hosts the nation's FIFTH BIGGEST St. Patrick's Day parade!


Royals Home Opener
March 29th

The Boys in Blue are back!  Take me out to the ballgame...finally!  Baseball season is back and our home opener is against the Chicago White Sox.  Come down to the K and root our boys on!!! Get your tickets HERE.


Easter
April 1st

Nothing says "Spring is here!" more than a good ole fashioned Easter egg hunt!!  

And there are SO many around the city - click here for an up to date guide. There are egg hunts starting as early as March 23rd, over a week before Easter, so you will have many opportunities to attend these fun and free events in our beautiful city!


ONE LAST SPRING TIME ACTIVITY...

Along with all of these wonderful things, spring also means its time for...SPRING CLEANING!!! Time to open the windows and shake out the rugs!  

Here are some  NON TOXIC alternatives to clean your home using ingredients you probably already have!!  



Natural Glass Cleaner
-1oz vinegar
-3 oz water
-10 drops of your favorite citrus essential oil

A bottle of Windex costs $3.99.  This natural glass cleaner costs $1.44!
Ditch the store bought glass cleaners and create your own!

Dishwasher Detergent
-1 cup baking soda
-1 cup Borax
-1/4 cup citric acid
-25 drops of your favorite citrus essential oil
 
Mix together and use 2 TBSP with each load. The citric acid mentioned in this recipe can be found in the canning section of your local store.  


Furniture Polish
-1/2 cup vinegar
-1/2 cup olive oil
-15 drops Lemon essential oil

You may need to adjust the vinegar/olive oil ratio, depending on how well it absorbs into your wood. Add vinegar for more absorption, add olive oil for more shine. Mix and apply to a rag and polish away - your furniture will shine! A can of pledge costs $4.69. This homemade mix costs $2.23!
