Silverstein Eye Centers Arena
Silverstein Arena is a multi-purpose venue that seats 5,800 people. It's the home of the minor league hockey team the Kansas City Mavericks and the Major Indoor League soccer team the Kansas City Comets. Be sure to catch a home game during their season! There's also a multitude of concerts, comedy shows, and other forms of live entertainment year round.
Main Event

The farmer's market in Independence is located in on the Historic Independence Square. It's open May - October every Wednesday and Saturday. There is also a Winter market open December - April on the first Saturday of each month. Don't worry, it's heated for your comfort. The Uptown Market can accommodate up to 300 participants.
Adventure Oasis Water Park
When summer rolls around, head over to Adventure Oasis Water Park! There are 3 water slides, a zero depth entry, a lap pool and diving area, a children's area, and a lazy river! When you get hungry, check out the Oasis Grilled filled with refreshing food and drinks.

George Owens Nature Park
Since 1977, this 86-acre park has given people the opportunity to reconnect with nature. It is open year round and features beautiful woods, lakes, hiking trails and wildlife. You can camp here as well! The DeWitt Center is also located here. You can find rotating exhibits, a pond display and 4 large aquariums.
Independence Community Ice
Independence Community Ice offers public skating sessions for all ages and abilities, private and freestyle figure skating lessons, and rentals for birthday parties. They also host youth and adult hockey leagues! Don't want to skate? No problem! Try out "Broomball". It's a game played in your normal shoes on the ice and you try to score on the opposing team. It's a great way to get everyone involved!
